Coffee equipment and accessories - South Africa
Most of the coffee equipment that is available in South Africa is imported from other production centres. The Europeans still seem to enjoy the bulk of this business but the Chinese, and other countries are making strong inroads into the market.
The weak South African currency, the ZAR, has meant that this machinery has become increasingly expensive. The few products which are manufactured locally still require many imported components and this is not good for the coffee lovers of South Africa.
An entry level start-up kit for a small coffee shop will consist of an espresso machine; a grinder; tamper; tamper mats; installation; milk frothing jugs; filters and pressure control valves. Expect to pay between R 50 and R 60 000 for a start up installation or consider a rent-to-buy or a pure rental agreement from one of our suppliers alongside.
